Volunteer Rid A Pest
In- House Training Program

Proper training is essential to the success of our business. The reason we are able to offer a 100% Money-Back Guarantee is our unmatched training program. Each technician is able to identify the problem pest, create a customized treatment strategy and permanently eliminate your problem. Each employee must complete our training program BEFORE the technician is allowed to perform their first treatment independently.

Our training program consists of:

1. Classroom Training:

I personally instruct our employees on our high company standards and performance policy, insect identification, insect biology, proper handling and application of pesticides, our company and OSHA safety procedures, all EPA regulations and much more......!

We have a huge library of resources that includes numerous textbooks and a series of instructional CD courses to further reinforce these subjects. The technician in-training will be tested on each module and must pass before progressing to the next.

The technician in-training will not be allowed to work independently for a full 90 days, until their training is complete.

Hands-on Ride Along Training:

A new technician in training, rides along with each of our highly trained and certified technicians. This enables them to observe how each technician interacts with clients, performs their treatments, handles challenges and solves our clients problems. They also perform treatments under the direct supervision of a certified applicator. With this “hands-on” training, our technicians are prepared for any obstacle they may meet in the future.

Technician Mentoring:

Each of our technicians is assigned a mentor, which is one of our more experienced technicians. Any time he needs advice or assistance with a problem, his mentor will give him the on-going assistance he needs.

Becoming Certified:

To become a Volunteer Rid A Pest technician, the employee must pass all in-house courses and display an attitude of service. He/she must become certified by the State of Tennessee. After the 90 day training period, he/she is sent to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to be tested by the State of Tennessee for certification as a pesticide applicator. If the employee is successful and passes this exam, and has shown me the proper attitude and work ethic, he/she will be allowed to go out in the field, perform treatments and work alone for the first time.

No other company has such a stringent training requirement. Many companies hire technicians and have them working alone and performing treatments the very first day.

That is just one of the many differences between our company and our competitors.
